About Bloom Garden Schools

Welcome to Bloom Garden Schools

Bloom Garden Schools is founded on the premise of provision of quality and affordable services in line with the current global trends in the field of special educational needs.

We are made up of three schools. Each one is structured for a different level of need, so that every learner can be placed where they will receive the right amount of support, and move on towards mainstreaming, the workplace and independence in life.

Our schools

The anatomy of Bloom Garden Schools

Three schools, one community, each meeting learners at a different level of support.

Early intervention and substantial support

Bloom Garden Autism Academy

Bloom Garden Autism Academy is structured to provide services to students who require early intervention services, as well as those who, by virtue of delayed milestones, need substantial support. The academy prepares students for mainstreaming, vocational rehabilitation and independence in life.

Our philosophy is that the progress of a child with special needs depends on the contact time they have with teachers and other relevant professionals. As a result, the academy keeps a teacher-to-student ratio of 1:2 or 1:3.

  • Teacher-to-student ratio of 1:2 or 1:3
  • Early identification and intervention
  • Prepares learners for mainstreaming and independence
International curricula with a slight degree of support

Bloom Garden International School

Bloom Garden International School is structured to provide services to students who require a slight degree of support to access the curriculum. The school uses the Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel curricula, and its teachers are well trained in special educational needs.

Because students need more than education alone, therapists work alongside teachers to make sure every student receives the right blend of support. The teacher-to-student ratio is 1:3.

  • Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel curricula
  • Registered with the Ministry of Education
  • Therapists work alongside teachers
  • Teacher-to-student ratio of 1:3
Skills for the workplace and independence

Bloom Garden Vocational Training Center

Recognising the need for workplace transition, Bloom Garden Schools established Bloom Garden Vocational Training Center to prepare teens and young adults through vocational training.

Its key mission is to equip young adults with skills that can lead to placement in the workplace, either with some support or independently. Training happens in small groups, with a teacher-to-student ratio of 1:3.

  • Registered and licensed by TVETA
  • Accredited by NITA as a Trade Test centre
  • Teacher-to-student ratio of 1:3
  • Prepares learners for supported or independent work
Why choose us

The Bloom Garden Autism Academy model

For efficiency in meeting the varied needs and challenges of students, our services meet the following criteria.

Level appropriate

Services are based on the student's current level of performance. Teachers, therapists and other service providers work from that level towards new and improved performance, which avoids frustration for the learner, the parent and the teacher.

Credible

Services have the potential to lead to learning or skill acquisition that builds new competencies in the learner. This is achieved by hiring well-trained, qualified professionals.

Child oriented

The child is always at the centre. The need to fulfil curriculum demands never overrides the need for the learner to benefit from the intervention process.

Evidence based or reasonable

Teachers and therapists have a strong grasp of theory and practice, supported by qualified hiring, ongoing workshops and staff training programmes.

Safe

Interventions take place in extremely safe environments, so that the health and safety of every student is protected.
