FAQ Information

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Which of the Bloom Garden Schools is right for my child?

Each of our three schools is structured for a different level of need:

  • Bloom Garden Autism Academy is for learners who need early intervention, or substantial support because of delayed milestones.
  • Bloom Garden International School is for learners who need a slight degree of support to access the curriculum.
  • Bloom Garden Vocational Training Center is for teens and young adults preparing for the workplace.

If you are not sure, contact us and we will talk it through with you.

What is the teacher-to-student ratio?

We keep small ratios, because we believe a learner's progress depends on the contact time they have with teachers and other professionals.

  • Bloom Garden Autism Academy: 1:2 or 1:3
  • Bloom Garden International School: 1:3
  • Bloom Garden Vocational Training Center: 1:3
Which curricula does Bloom Garden International School follow?

Bloom Garden International School uses the Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel curricula, taught by teachers who are well trained in special educational needs.

Is Bloom Garden Vocational Training Center accredited?

Yes. Bloom Garden Vocational Training Center is registered and licensed by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA) as a Vocational Training Center (registration number TVETA/PRIVATE/VTC/0015/2026). It is also accredited by the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) as a centre for Trade Tests.

Learners take NITA and TVET-CDACC examinations and earn nationally recognised Artisan and Craft Certificates.

What does the vocational training center prepare learners for?

Its key mission is to equip young adults with skills that can lead to placement in the workplace, either with some support or independently.

Do therapists work with the teachers?

Yes. Because our students need more than education alone, therapists work alongside teachers so that every student receives the right blend of support.

How do you decide where my child starts?

Our services are level appropriate: teachers, therapists and other service providers start from your child's current level of performance and work towards new and improved performance. This avoids frustration for the learner, the parent and the teacher.

Can my child move on to mainstream school?

Preparing learners for mainstreaming is one of the goals of Bloom Garden Autism Academy, alongside vocational rehabilitation and independence in life.

How qualified are your teachers and therapists?

We hire well-trained, qualified professionals, and keep their skills current through ongoing workshops and staff training programmes.

For your child's safety, all our campuses are also under CCTV surveillance 24 hours a day.

How do you keep learners safe?

All interventions take place in a safe environment, so that the health and safety of every student is protected. The child is always at the centre of our decisions.
